FOLK TALES FROM HISTORY

India the “land of mystics and snake charmers” is what has been narrated since ages by the western authors. It Was for sure a land where many unanswered questions were answered from the time this culture came into existence, if you are seeking for the truth which no one is able to guide you to, you just need a siddha Indian yogi. In recent times I can suggest you the name of ‘Sadguru’ of ‘Isha foundation’ who is doing this and is known for his generation changing initiatives. In recent times the existence of siddha yogi is tough to find as there has been moral and social degradation of Hinduism and Hindu schools of vedas , yet Dharama always prevails and so does the existence of siddha yogis in India. You won’t find a yogi just anywhere they won’t bragg about there siddhi as that is what a siddha Mahatma don’t do they never have any physical desire or bond with the physical world, they are often found in secluded regions such as the Himalayas or in Banaras.

Lets come back to our story of the crow and Alexander, when Alexander came towards India to finally have victory over this area which he did not have due to the presence and bravery of Porus of India, he came to know about the yogi’s of India who are Immortal or at least know how one can be immortal. Alexander was a person who as afraid to die after becoming what we know of him today, which reflects from the fact that he got his own close people killed on account of suspicion of plotting against him. Thus being immortal would have been his answer to this fear of dying one day, So he gets his soldiers to go search and find an immortal yogi, his soldiers went in search of it. After going for very far long his soldiers got a glimpse of a person meditating and in deep silence they interrupt his sadhna and asks him , do you know someone who can tell us how to be immortal the sage looked at their faces and smiled and said yes child I can, the soldiers asked him to go with them to their Sikandar to which the yogi denied, they took out their sword to chop off his head for denial but he smiled at those soldiers and said go ahead and kill me if you want but I won’t move from here get your Sikander to me and I shall show him the path to which he seeks my guidance.

Alexander got the news and was angry but he wanted to be immortal so bad that he went to the yogi and asked him how can I be immortal? the yogi seeing his dedication and determination and that how his desire to be immortal has made a Sikander so humble that he came down to a wandering yogi to get his questions answered, made him decide to be his guide to the path of immortality. He gave Alexandar and his fellow guards direction to the pond inside a cave where one reaches after passing many hurdles and bone wrecking walk into the deep jungles. Alexander moved in the search for that pond where he was told that just drinking the water from there would make him an immortal.

After a long and tiring walk he was just at the verge of his destination and they were finding everything as mentioned by the yogi in their way towards that pond, then Alexander feels that the yogi was right and the pond was nearby so he asked his guards to abandon him and let him continue ahead all alone as he wanted to be the only immortal among them, as fear of death was what made him strong and the immortals won’t fear him. He continued his journey ahead and reached a cave he got down from his horse and was finally looking at the beauty of the crystal clear water of the pond that was going to make him an immortal. He rushed towards the lake and collected the holy water in his hand and just as he was about to drink it, a crow appeared just on the opposite side of the pond and asked him not to do so, Alexander surprised seeing a crow speak asked who are you and why you don’t want me to drink it? the crow said I am also just like you, came here and drank this and since then I have been living, it has been thousands of year now everything comes to an end other than this unbearable life of mine. Alexander said don’t you find it a blessing to be able to live forever ? the crow said I thought so as well but now that I know how it feels to be Indefinitely alive forever I won’t let someone else suffer this never ending pain, agony and suffering. Alexander said but I have a purpose to serve my fellow greeks and not to fly around, to which the crow said even those people for whom you fight are going to die with the satisfaction of having lived and finally approaching the ultimate truth of death what you love will die but not you Alexander ! hearing this Alexander looked at the crow in silence for a while thinking of what to do and finally decided to leave without drinking it.

Thus a crow made us witness The great Alexander today as we know or he might have been writing his own narration of this story like me on medium if he would have drank from that pond. good bye until the next folk lore from our History
